Differences of opinion in Palakkad BJP, six councilors inform to resign; rebel meet continues

PALAKKAD: There are severe differences of opinion in the BJP over the selection of yuva morcha president Prasanth Sivan as the Palakkad district president. Six councilors in Palakkad have informed to resign if Prasanth Sivan is made district president. The councilors allege that Prasanth Sivan is being made the district president in violation of all the norms of the BJP. The councilors allege that C Krishna Kumar is behind this. Their rebel meeting is progressing in Palakkad.

The age limit for the district president should be between 45 and 60 years and the person elected should have been a member of the BJP for at least six years. However, Prasanth Sivan is only 35 years old. It is reported that he has only been an active member of the BJP for four years.
